Summary of the proposal

The NAUTILOS project will complement and expand on current European ocean observation tools and services, in order to obtain data collection at a much higher spatial resolution and temporal regularity and length than currently available at the European level, and to further enable and democratize the monitoring of the marine environment to both traditional and non-traditional data users. This will be done by developing new and low-cost sensors to be operated in new platforms, as well as to build new modelling approaches, using the benefits of these concepts. In this project, the University of the Algarve will lead the modelling work package.

Project goal

To develop, test and assess an innovative set of sensors in order to monitor the ocean marine environment.
